Hey there, Graphic Content fans, Matt and Erin here with your spooktacular Halloween themed movie event! To celebrate the season of ghosts and spooks, we thought what would be better than the half-man half-demon all around cool guy, HELLBOY! Auteur extraordinaire Guillermo del Toro really came into his own with Hellboy II: The Golden Army adapting the film from an original story conceived by himself and comics artist and Hellboy creator Mike Mignola, and we are delighted to be showing it this month! Here’s the details, and the awesome poster designed by two thirds of the awesome indie comic TIGER LAWYER, Vic Malhotra and Ryan Ferrier:
Hellboy (Ron Perlman), half-demon star agent of the B.P.R.D. (Bureau of Paranormal Research and Defense), is once again humanity’s last hope after an ancient prophecy pits the world of man against the world of the Fey. With his comrades in arms, fishman Abe Sapien, firestarter Liz Sherman, and an ectoplasmic German professor named Johann Krauss; Hellboy must defeat the natural world gone mad. Visionary director Guillermo del Toro brings us one of the most visually inventive comic book films of all time, using practical effects and good old-fashioned movie magic to tell an enchanting tale of a down-to-earth hero who just happens to look like a monster.
Tuesday, October 16th at 9:00 PM. The movie is rated 14A and runs for 120 minutes. Tickets are $10 for adults and $8 for students/seniors. Metro Passes will be accepted. Box office opens at 8:15, so come on by early to check out the comics we’ve selected to go with the movie. RSVP on Facebook.
